Understanding the Complexities of Cash Handling

Countercheck understands that there are many issues to deal with when checking money for counterfeit. First, the counterfeit detection method must be easy enough to use that the sales clerk does not need extensive training. No store can afford to send their staff to a counterfeit training camp. The method must also be fast enough so that the clerk is able to use it without disrupting his normal work pattern. We have found that any method that takes more than a couple seconds will not be used regularly.

The method also has to be customer-friendly. Accusing a customer of passing a fake $20 bill is no pleasurable task. The counterfeit detector used must make it clear to both the customer and the clerk that the bill being passed though it is fake. The unit must be exceedingly accurate though, to avoid unnecessary customer embarrassment and arguments.

The counterfeit detector must also take into consideration ergonomics. Plug-in units must have a long cord so they can be placed in a proper position.
